Makeup brushes

A practical makeup brush OEM inquiry template

Start with a defined buying question

A useful brush inquiry tells the factory what must be reproduced, not just that you want a private label set. Describe the number of brushes, intended use of each head, head dimensions, handle length, ferrule finish and logo placement. Reference photographs help explain shape, but dimensions and written acceptance points are needed to avoid different interpretations.

Ask the factory to explain the proposed bristle composition and construction. Do not treat terms such as soft, premium or professional as specifications. Compare the samples for shedding, head recovery, handle finish and the join between ferrule and handle. Decide whether the set includes a pouch, tray or box before comparing quotations, because presentation can account for a substantial part of the order.

Your message can read: We are developing a private label brush set for [use]. Please quote [quantities] using the attached specification. Show sample lead time, bulk lead time, logo methods, packaging options and any setup charges separately. Please identify any specification you cannot meet and suggest alternatives with a clear description of the change. Replace every bracket with your actual requirements.

Inquiry checklist

A decision record you can reuse

Create a one-page record with the selected configuration, open questions, evidence received and next action. Ask the supplier to correct misunderstandings before you approve a sample or purchase order. Keep photographs, quotations and written confirmations with that record so that another person can understand why you made the choice. If an important detail is unresolved, request clarification instead of quietly turning it into an assumption.

Use this guide as a purchasing framework, not as a claim that a listed manufacturer has passed these checks. Custom-OEM profiles organize public supplier information; buyers should confirm current specifications and commercial terms directly with the manufacturer. A clear brief and documented sample comparison make the next conversation more useful than an unspecific request for the best price.
