Sourcing workflow

Calculate a useful landed-cost estimate for beauty orders

Start with a defined buying question

Begin with a defined order rather than a headline unit price. Record quantity, product specification, packaging and the quoted delivery arrangement. Identify which costs are included and which are excluded. The supplier price alone may not cover inspection, inland transport, international freight, clearance or delivery to your receiving address.

Build the estimate as separate lines. Include samples and setup charges where relevant, then add packing and logistics quotations using the same shipment dimensions and weight. Ask a qualified logistics provider about destination-specific charges and applicable import requirements. Do not reuse an old estimate without checking whether the shipment configuration or route has changed.

Divide the total expected cost by the quantity you expect to receive in saleable condition. Keep uncertain items visible and compare scenarios instead of presenting a single precise number based on guesses. A higher product price can sometimes produce a lower total if packing is more efficient or unnecessary components are removed. Compare those changes only after confirming they still meet the product brief.

Inquiry checklist

A decision record you can reuse

Create a one-page record with the selected configuration, open questions, evidence received and next action. Ask the supplier to correct misunderstandings before you approve a sample or purchase order. Keep photographs, quotations and written confirmations with that record so that another person can understand why you made the choice. If an important detail is unresolved, request clarification instead of quietly turning it into an assumption.

Use this guide as a purchasing framework, not as a claim that a listed manufacturer has passed these checks. Custom-OEM profiles organize public supplier information; buyers should confirm current specifications and commercial terms directly with the manufacturer. A clear brief and documented sample comparison make the next conversation more useful than an unspecific request for the best price.
