Sourcing workflow

Plan inspection around the beauty product specification

Start with a defined buying question

Inspection should be planned before production, with a written scope based on the product brief. Decide which dimensions, appearance points, assembly features and packing details need to be checked. A general request to check quality leaves too much interpretation to the person doing the work and may miss the issues that matter most to your launch.

Discuss the sampling plan, timing and report format with the inspection provider and supplier. Define categories of defects and the response to each category. Some tests require specialist equipment or longer observation and cannot be replaced by a short visual visit. Keep these separate from the checks that can reasonably be performed during a shipment inspection.

Provide the approved specification, reference images and any retained sample to the inspector. Confirm that the units inspected represent the order and that carton markings match the packing list. If a problem is found, record the correction and how it will be verified. A report supports a decision about the order; it should not be treated as an unconditional guarantee for every unit or every future shipment.

Inquiry checklist

A decision record you can reuse

Create a one-page record with the selected configuration, open questions, evidence received and next action. Ask the supplier to correct misunderstandings before you approve a sample or purchase order. Keep photographs, quotations and written confirmations with that record so that another person can understand why you made the choice. If an important detail is unresolved, request clarification instead of quietly turning it into an assumption.

Use this guide as a purchasing framework, not as a claim that a listed manufacturer has passed these checks. Custom-OEM profiles organize public supplier information; buyers should confirm current specifications and commercial terms directly with the manufacturer. A clear brief and documented sample comparison make the next conversation more useful than an unspecific request for the best price.
